Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures

(TCFD)
Definition

An international initiative established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) to develop voluntary, consistent climate-related financial risk disclosures for use by companies, investors, lenders, and insurers. The TCFD's recommendations provide a framework for organizations to disclose how climate-related risks and opportunities may impact their financial performance. The disclosures focus on four key areas: Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, and Metrics and Targets. By adopting TCFD recommendations, organizations can provide transparent and comparable information that helps stakeholders make informed decisions about climate-related financial risks and supports the transition to a more sustainable, low-carbon economy.
