Million Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent

A unit used to express the total greenhouse gas emissions or reductions in terms of the amount of carbon dioxide (CO₂) that would have the same global warming potential. It allows for the comparison of different greenhouse gases based on their impact on global warming, converting all gases into a common metric. One million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent represents the impact of one million tonnes of CO₂ or an equivalent amount of other greenhouse gases adjusted for their global warming potential.
