Korean Credit Unit
(KCU)
Definition
A unit of carbon credit used in South Korea’s carbon market. Each KCU represents one ton of carbon dioxide (CO₂) equivalent that has been reduced or removed from the atmosphere through verified emission reduction projects. The KCU is traded within the South Korean emissions trading system and supports the country’s efforts to achieve its greenhouse gas reduction targets.
