Korean Allowance Unit

Unit of carbon emission allowance used in South Korea's emissions trading scheme. Each KAU represents the right to emit one ton of carbon dioxide (CO₂) or its equivalent in greenhouse gases. The KAU is traded within the South Korean carbon market as part of the country’s efforts to manage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
