Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC)
Definition
An international body established to provide scientific assessments of climate change, its impacts, and potential adaptation and mitigation strategies. It was created by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and is composed of scientists from around the world. The IPCC produces comprehensive reports that summarize the current state of climate science, inform policymakers, and guide global climate action.
