Definition

The national body responsible for overseeing and managing the emissions trading system in Germany. It administers the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) at the national level, including monitoring, reporting, and verifying emissions, as well as allocating and managing emissions allowances. The authority ensures compliance with emissions regulations and supports Germany's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
