Definition
A political and economic union of 27 European countries that are located primarily in Europe. It was established to promote economic integration, political cooperation, and regional stability. The EU has its own institutions, including the European Commission, European Parliament, and European Council, which develop and implement policies and regulations affecting member states. It facilitates a single market with free movement of goods, services, people, and capital, and addresses various issues such as trade, environmental protection, and security.
