Tonne of Coal Equivalent

A unit of energy measurement used to represent the amount of energy produced by burning one tonne of coal. It is used to standardize and compare energy outputs from different sources by converting them into a common unit. One tonne of coal equivalent is equivalent to approximately 29.3 gigajoules (GJ) of energy.
