Scope 3 Emissions

Indirect GHG emissions (other than those covered in scope 2) that occur in the value chain of the reporting company, including both upstream and downstream emissions.

The release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere generated as a result of an organization's activities, but physically produced by another entity. For example, if you drive a fossil-fuel-powered car, the emissions it produces would count towards hte car manufacturer's Scope 3 emissions.
