Net-zero Emissions

Definition

Net zero emissions are achieved when anthropogenic emissions of GHGs to the atmosphere are balanced by anthropogenic removals over a specified period.

Net-zero emissions is a climate goal at the global level. The SBTi translates the global goal of net-zero emissions into net-zero science-based targets at the corporate level.
