Definition
A proposed piece of legislation introduced in the House of Representatives, one of the two chambers of a bicameral legislature, such as the U.S. Congress. It can address various issues and, once introduced, goes through a process of debate, revision, and voting. If passed by the House, it must also be approved by the other chamber (the Senate) and signed by the executive (e.g., the President) to become law.
