Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation
(CORSIA)
Definition
It is a global market-based measure established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to address greenhouse gas emissions from international aviation. CORSIA aims to achieve carbon-neutral growth in international aviation by requiring airlines to offset any emissions above a certain baseline level. Participating airlines are required to purchase carbon offsets or invest in projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in other sectors to counter their aviation-related emissions
