Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction

(T-VER)
Definition

A carbon offset program managed by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) that allows organizations and individuals to voluntarily purchase carbon credits to offset their greenhouse gas emissions. The T-VER program provides a certification process for projects that reduce or sequester emissions, such as renewable energy initiatives, energy efficiency improvements, or reforestation efforts. These projects generate carbon credits that can be traded or retired to compensate for emissions produced elsewhere. The T-VER program aims to support Thailand's climate goals, promote sustainable development, and engage the private sector in carbon management and emission reduction efforts.
